Almost a month

Can you imagine the pair of angelic looking wings that are found on the back of Time?
Yes, I could.

I've been here, in Subang, at Taylor's for almost a month *whee*

Oh my god! Did I just say a month? *pinches myself hard on my apples and ouch! It's real*

This has been the longest time I ever left home. I know, I know. Eventually, I'll have to leave home one day and this is just a mock. But, I miss my hometown dearly. Apart from the food, the people that I know too - I miss them. Somehow, as peculiar as it may sound, I also miss MGS. The familiar environment, the teachers (both loving and annoying alike), the canteen food and also Chibi Maruko. I hate to admit this but, yea, I miss school.

Life so far has been pretty good judging from the fact that the actual ADP semester is yet to unveil itself. To be exact, I have another 15 days to go before I can meet new breeds of people and some fresh streams of ideas. I just can't wait - especially if there's any cute eye candy or foreigners...haha...oh yea, pardon me and my obsessions with this whole Korean thinghy.

As August approaches, it also signifies that I am left with about two more months to prepare for the SAT 1. As hypothetical as it may seemed to be, I still don't know whether is there any possibilities for me to score at least 2000. Forget about 2400...I can only hope for the best to happen to me. In spite of all these troubles that I may soon encounter, I still want to enjoy my life as a college student...Duh, I'm still young. If I don't enjoy myself now, then when? Wait till when I'm old and needed someone to wipe my ass for me??? What the...

Ok, sorry for that very rude and impolite expression but I have not the slightest intention to delete it because I just wanna say that out loud!

The transition has just begun and therefore, I will continue to persevere because I have chosen to walk down this journey, no matter how difficult and rocky this path may be.

Wish me luck as I would be needing them badly and desperately.

Goodnight!

Randomness...

So, it's been a hiatus eh???

well, I was so busy these few days that I practically have no time to indulge in my favorite past-time - TV...

anyway, what's in town? I mean, in MY TOWN of course la...TOWN OF KEAT YEE...wakaka...

Guess what? I actually got the opportunity to see pinkpau in action!!!

Ok la...maybe you guys think that that's not really a big deal, but to me, listening and talking to intellectuals like her (besides WunMin, ChenChow and Carmen), had been quite an enriching experience...oh yea, that includes talking to the only Malaysian guy who was admitted into Harvard for the Fall's 08 term. Er, pardon moi, but what is his name again? Somehow, I do realize a distinct similarity between this people. The way how these smarties carry themselves using the power of their tongues were exceptionally great. I noticed that whenever they start opening their mouths, words that was split out were enough to amaze any modest mortals...especially me! Their eyes were literally sparkling and the sparkles was sufficient to make you go blind!!!

Er, maybe not that extreme but somewhat, it was just amazing seeing these humans talk. It was charming enough to get a stranger to listen to them without having him or her trying to run away from verbal diarrhea. I wish I were to be like them too. Really.

However, it is a well-known fact that each and every one of us is different so there's no point trying to be somebody you're not. Perhaps, I should just stick back to the old me. Hehe...i can't be that bad...

By the way, I am currently enrolled in the EAP - English for Academic Purposes - classes and I learned something really important about myself. Ta-da!!! My grammar is terrible! Now, I'm starting to wonder how has it been possible for me to survive 11 years of English in a haughty fashion (yes, I do have high regards about my command of the language, mind you). Why didn't ET mention about it? After all, she's one of the acclaimed best English teacher in the school! (Sorry la Pn. HC, you're English was not in my favor) And Pn. Lin too. How come they had never mention about it??? Hitherto, I feel like some pathetic losers on the tracks. Talking about English, I am going to join this inter-college debate thinghy with a girl and the guy who harangued me with the arrogant thinghy...alright, alright. he didn't harangue me la...but i am still pissed about it.

This would definitely be a chance of a lifetime; I've never debate in English before!!! *gasp*

Besides that, i would also like to take this opportunity to thank Sophia and MingLee. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't be the EdiBoard and hopefully, much of the skills I gained will come in handy for the future *keeping fingers crossed*

And yea, Fky...I wanna go shopping la dude...Life would be meaningless if there's no shopping!!! Otherwise, I'll start emo-ing again...Now, wtf...

I missed my parents, my grandma, my little brothers...not so much of my BIG brother though...but I did wondered when he'll mature...Ah Ma and Auntie Shirley too...I missed the times when we go makan and shopping la...I missed my Mummy's cookings and my Daddy's nagging as well as my Grandma' s constant squabbles with my BIG bro...So sad....*sob sob*

I also missed Ipoh where the food is 'peng, leng, jeng' (meaning cheap, nice and delicious). White coffee, the roti canai man's roti canai, 'chu cheong fun', cha kuey tiaw, fried buttered prawns a.k.a 'nai yau har', Gunung rapat's famous 'heong peang', oranges and apples in the fridge, nice teh tarik, Fusan's mooncake etc...my oh my..now I'm starting to go hungry again!!!

Ostensibly, I must really be finding the right time top go back to Ipoh. Beside indulging in the oh-so-delicious food, I also need to go back to MGS and have a nice tete-a-tete with Chibi Maruko-chan...She's my Principal la...not the cartoon one...

Boy, this is a long post...

Emo Monday

Monday is never a wonderful day. During school days, you have to bear with all those assemblys where you sing songs and read out all the ikrars as well as listening to all those boring lectures from the teachers and headmistress.

Today, a malicious and slanderous comment was thrown to me from a fellow classmate. I'm not sure he's joking or not, but somehow what he said imply that I AM ARROGANT. Meaning, I'm a show-off and anything equivalent to that category. I was PISSED OFF!!!

This may not be the first time that someone actually said that to me but this...was really hurtful. My ex-classmates used to think that too when we first met but we ended up getting really good with each other for the next 5 years. The same case occured too when I was carying my National Service stint in Kedah but the girls then, thought I was the cool type intially.

Sometimes, it felt like someone was stabbing my heart again and again. Just because I asked tonnes of questions during class, always giving my point of view and speaking with an accent, that does not necessaryly means that I'm a Miss-know-It-All or Miss Snobbish or The-Annoying-B****-That-Speaks-With-An-Accent-In-Whatever-Language-She-Uses. You people didn't even know me well and yet you sum up all those stupid conclusions???

As hypothetical as it may sound like, I practically believed that at least half of the class population thought I was such a person!!!

What a good way to start a brand new week with such style.

I've been pretty emo recently...really...i have...i just hope that i could have someone to talk to instead of blogging it here...

Saturday's Friendship of Fire II

Well, well, well...despite on the verge of bursting my mind by the canon-blasting SAT words and the mentally and physically challenging SAT essays, i still think it would be better to continue blogging about my outing...*whee*

Now, where did i stop yesterday? Oh right! I was carried by these soft pillows of clouds into the wonderful Land-of-All-Kinds-of-Sweet-Dreams at the 13th floor of the H-Residences. Did i mention that the room has a rather aged air-con? Nevertheless, it was working perfectly well because I remembered how the cold air was killing my spine...ok lah...not that dramatic but it was cold, really. But, I like it!!!

I woke up at about 7.30am and yes, I'm the first one to wake up. Fky was second (surprisingly!) and sweet Shen-Ly woke up last. *Dearie, i thought you have to get ready for your date and yet you woke up last!*

Apparently, Shen decided to ditch the both of us for her love interest, IAN THE KING (that's what he called himself on Friendster.com lah). So you see, girls could be so realistic sometimes. When they've got themselves a boyfriend, their girlfriends would be forgotten *Resting in peace in the Memory Graveyard of the Human Brain Library System *. Humph...how could you do that Shen??? I thought we're friends???

Haha...i'm fine with it lah...just want to mention you and IAN THE KING in moi blog. Besides, I have the freedom to rant in my own blogs right? You guys are official in my eyes. hehe

With Shen out of the action, Fky and me went to McD for our breakfast. Er, call me outdated because this was the first time I'm having breakfast at a fast-food restaurant after having survived the past 18 years on staple food like rice...and rice. The both us then went to the 1st floor of H-Residences to get connected. That place was something like a study hall but there was a payment counter, a vending machine and a 54-inch flat screen plasma TV. Yes, a 54-inch flat screen plasma TV with ESPN *the boys are sure to go WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE* Oh, and the air-con was freaking cold too. She then showed me some pictures of her classmates whom some were in her Further Maths class. So many boys but so little girls...talk about gender equality. It doesn't seem so in my opinion.

Anyway, we were supposed to meet up with Jasmin who came from Germany for her summer vacation with her mom only. Her dad was apparently riding his bike across the Alps. Wait!!!!What???!!! The Alps??? Yup, I was surprised too initially because her dad was 50-something in age but his inner sense of youth...man, I just gotta salute him.

Ok, back to the part where we were waiting for the bus. We missed the first bus. Thanks to Fky's candy buying process from 7-11. We waited for the next bus to arrive in Subway but the bus shown no signs of coming. After about 30 minutes, we decided to run across the road to the opposite to catch another bus which came from a different direction. We were indeed so lucky...

to board the wrong bus!!!! Out of so many people waiting for the bus, WE boarded the wrong bus!!!! By then it was almost 1.15pm and we're supposed to meet Jasmin at the Bukit Bintang LRT station at 2.30pm. What to do? I just can't believe my "luck". We had to stop at the nearest stop to catch another bus which sent us to KL Sentral bus hub. We reached KL Sentral at about 2.05pm and made a dash to the KL monorail station opposite the KL Sentral.

Alas, we made it to the Bukit Bintang stop at 2.20pm but Jasmin and Mrs. Petrick were already there. *Aiya, so ng hou yi si* They have waited for so long that Jasmin actually asked us to bring her and her mom to go to the nearest restroom. Inside, I tried to have a tete-a-tete with Mrs. Petrick. However, her knowledge in English seemed really limited because I ended up using hand signals with her!!! I was, no doubt, a little shocked because since Jasmin speaks perfect English, I had thought her mom would be like her too. Oh well...

Anyway, since it's lunch time, we brought them to a Chinese Restaurant in Sungei Wang Plaza which specialty was Wan-Ton Mee. I was so stupid to even bring them there. I forgotten that they were both vegetarians which consume anything but poultry, pork, mutton and beef. And the place served these - Cha Siu Rice, Siew Mai, Braised Pork Ribs and even Braised Duck with Ginger.

H*** S***!!!!

You did not know how relieved I was when I spotted - FRESH SHRIMPS WAN TON NOODLES.
By the way, it was quite delicious but it's nothing compared to the ones sold in Buntong, back in Ipoh. Those were superb!!! *starts missing the IPOH's food. Even Jasmin remembered them well too, especially the white coffee*
The only thing Fky and me could do for her was to take sticker photos of the three of us using the sticker photo machine. I then remembered that her first time taking such photos with cutie poses was with us too!!! This was her second time doing so and I'm really happy that I was a part of it.

We bid her farewell at about 4. Awww...time passed really fast. She will be going to Ipoh today to visit MGS and ACS as Beh and the Gang were there. She will be returning to KL again early August and I hope that I could meet her for the last time because flying off to the States next year...*keeping fingers crossed*

It was also time for me to part with Fky, sadly. I felt sad because it means that i have to go back to good ol' Casa and I don't know when I'll be meeting her and Shen again.

I was dumped by the bus *stupid bus driver*. Consequently, I have to fork out RM6 for the taxi. Alas, I was back at Casa, safely.

Currently, I'm left with 1 more unwritten SAT essay and 200 SAT words. So many things to do, so little time.

Daddy, Mummy, MaMa, Ah B and Ah Small B came today. They brought so many things along for me with them and we went out for lunch at Mydin. Ewww.....But, I'm really grateful to them and I felt so happy that they came. MaMa even gave me extra pocket money *whee*

And hey! I got my laptop!!! *singing out loud*

Friday's Fire Of Friendship

Yesterday was a great day. why is it so? well, i have something like a reunion with FKY and Shen. after college ended at about 5, i waited for them to come over to taylor's so i could follow them back to H-Residences...er, no. H-Residences was not some exquisite five star serviced apartments or condominium. Just their hostel lah...haha...but yeah, the name the hostel bore was indeed 'remarkable'. Earlier, we had dinner at Asian Cafe before chasing after a RapidKL bus to get to Kelana Jaya LRT station to go to Damansara. Unfortunately, we failed to catch the bus. Imagine running about 20 to 30 km per hour just to catch that stupid bus which eventually left us when we're about another 500m or so behind it. I know, I know, we aren't any fastest human in the world so yeah, the right thing was to get dumped by a bus. I swear I would never run after a bus after having a full meal. I'm still young and I havent got married; wouldn't want to die at such a young age...haha...besides, i have 5 unfinished essays waiting to be sent in to the teachers, Ben (a.k.a the guy from TPRKL who loves the word HOLY SHIT so much)and Ayu (a.k.a the Lady of All Sarcasms)

Eventually, the next bus arrived at about 15minutes later. Thank God!!!

So, where did we go next? Upon reaching Kelana Jaya LRT station, we decided to take a taxi to Damansara Cineleisure instead of boarding the LRT. The three of us was bubbling with excitement as we talked and talked and talked.

Ok lah, more like gossiping lah. I admit lah.

But hey! We should not be blamed. I mean, the last time I saw them was like 6 months ago! It's only normal for us to do lots of catching ups!!!

And then, the time has finally arrived. Yes, arrived in a very lavish style. from Cineleisure, we went to The Curve where we passed Mango. The time has finally arrived...

FOR ME TO SHOP LAH!!! WHAT ELSE WOR???
And that's the beginning of me, spending my money without a second thought. Don't worry lah, Mango was having some sales and since i needed something with long sleeves, I ended up buying a light khaki bolero. My first ever BOLERO leh...haha...

Yeah, that's the only thing I bought lah.

FKY got back her itchy appetite so we went to the BOULEVARD for some nice drinks and snacks. Winter Warmers. Yup, we went there and the place was so cosy, reminding me of the warm and comfy little English cottages in England, of course. However, it took me only a jiffy to be transported back into the reality, when the not-cute-at-all waiter came to us with the menu. Holy cow!!! It was freaking expensive!!! Seriously, a 'giamsiap' fellow like me would never go there with anyone else except with Shen and Fky they all and my parents and oh, my auntie Shirley too. Hehe...

By 11pm, we took another taxi and went back to H-Residences. Hoo hoo hoo...the guards did not notice that i am not a student from help as the three of us made our silent way to fky's room on the 13th floor. After taking a bath and continuing chatting till 2am, Fky and I finally dozed off while being carried into the wonderful Lands-of-All-Kind-of-Sweet Dreams.

You know what? I think I better not write all of it now in a single post. It's too long and H*** S***!!! I've still have 5 essays waiting to attack me once i lost my guard and 200 SAT words to be memorised before they intend to burst my brains!!!

No!!!
I've contracted the H*** S*** verbal-abuse-disease from BEN!!!

ARRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!

WTF ???

the other day i was reading a girl's blog and she was quite a heavy user of the word WTF - what the tut!!!!! sorry, that f-word didn't manage to go through the bad-word-sensor installed here.

well, it was nothing to shout out about but it's just weird hearing people saying WTF all the time. not to mention people who also write it on their blogs. like any other young, bright and roving teenager, i was curious at all the things that came to me. yet, this was exceptional. i ponder and ponder over why this WTF is just so popular among youngsters and perhaps, kidults too.

here are some of the reasons that seem relevant to moi after some wanderings on the hubbub of KL :

1. teenager 1 : cannot meh??? i like to use ar....
2. girl 2 : WTF is no longer the guy's priorities....girls are free to express themselves too!!! talk
about gender equality.
3. kidult A : you also say popular among youngsters and kidults mah...if i don't say geh, mai
very out lor...this is what you call in..
4. boy 1 : my friend all also got say lor, i pun ikut lor...if not ar, got the gap one, very hard to
communicate.
5. teenager B : use this word very bergaya lah, jadi i pun use lah. some more got power...

er, despite reasons given by various individuals from basically almost similar backgrounds, i am rather sceptical about this WTF thinghy. nevertheless, all of us have the freedom to do, see or hear what we enjoy. to all of you out there, continuing using and praising the holy word from the Holy Bible of Spoken Crap - WTF.

for those who are not besotted fans of WTF, just ignore it and follow the golden rule of
"Hear no evil, speak no evil and see no evil".

oh my god!!!
i saw my ex-crush yesterday and the day before !!!
WTF???!!!

Untitled Piece

The clock is ticking
as every second,
minute,
and hour
is waving farewell
to my youth.

It is time
for me to look beyond
the horizons where my dreams lay,
waiting for me to come, pluck and taste
the sweet fruits
of my once bitter labors.

Simultaneously,
reminiscing about
the good ol' days
where every little experience
and adventures
that i have endured,
moulded me into
what i am today.

Fortitude

Fortitude
is all I need
to fluorish among
the creams of the crops,
to dare to dream
and
to achieve my goals.

Pray
that I'll be able
to relish
the dream of
being sucessful in my life.

SAT classes...

Well, well, well...the SAT classes will start later at half-past nine. Erm, to say that i'm not anxious is definitely a lie but i was kinda anticipating it. I mean, dude, these series of classes will be a key factor to determine whether I'm fit or not to make it to the Ivies by scoring a reasonably good SAT score. I've been aiming of at least a 2100 albeit having the knowledge that most Ivies would need their students to have at least a 2250 or so. Yet, i still badly wanted to go to one of the Ivies, notably Princeton, UPenn, Harvard and Yale too (because Bill and Hillary Clinton did their Masters there).

I did not mentioned in my earlier entry that I've bought another SAT book, this time from McGraw-Hill's. I really should start doing them but I don't know...the enthusiasm to crack those model tests is still pretty much absent....hmmm...

Will update again...

tschuss.....

A detrimental journey to my heart, mind, body and soul...

What was thought to be an interesting and inspiring, not forgetting a supposed to be fun outing turned out to be exhausting, tiring and financially-challenged for me. I was on a book-shopping trip with my housemates today for some SAT books at The Gardens and Midvalley today, a Sunday, thinking that maybe the public transports today would no be as busy as on weekdays. Boy, was I wrong!

Firstly, being a ‘freshman’ in the big, ever bubbling hubbub KL (not exactly a first-timer as I’ve been here for like only-God-knows-how-many-times-I’ve-been-here with my parents, but rather first time with friends), it was already quite an experience actually. But having to travel from the place where I stayed to the shopping malls proved to be a puzzling and not intriguing journey. We have to not only board the public buses, but also have to take the trains too. Try guessing the duration of time used on just the travelling. Nah, it wasn’t that long….that’s a joke. The three of us spent about 5 hours on taking public transports only. The rationale behind all these travels via public transports was because KL is yet to have a fully and wholly connected public transports system. Meaning, the passengers have to travel from one place to another different place just to hop onto the buses or trains to go to their ideal destinations. These not only cause fatigue to the people but also tends to burn a hole in their pockets, like in my case. Besides that, almost everything in this so-called metropolitan was soooooooooo expensive!!!! For instance, a hot plate noodle costs me a whopping RM6.20 when I could get the same item, even tastier for half the price in Ipoh. Imagine!!!! Yea, yea…I know I’m still pretty much the small town girl. I do miss Ipoh. And, I think I’m molested by a stranger while waiting for the train. F*******…..

Then, we spent about close to two hours in the bookstores. It was cold inside but my pals were just not ready to leave. I’m not complaining, really but it’s just that all the travelling made me to lose all my moods to read in the bookstores. I would rather much prefer to walk around.

Although it was tiring, but hey! Look at the bright side! At least I learnt how to take the public transport in KL…wakaka…

I’m probably going to FKY and Shen-Ly’s place next Saturday and FKY was telling me that we’ll go window-shopping…goodness…so hopefully it wouldn’t be as bad as today’s. Well, I better keep my fingers and toes crossed too…

Gibberish!!!!!

yesterday was not a good day, so i was definitely looking for a good start today. it hadn't been disappointing having half of the day gone though.

speed reading. i remember reading about it on the local newspaper some years ago but how stupid of me! never having the initiative to try googling the subject otherwise, i would've have been an even better reader. hope it's not too late if i decide to do so now.

sometimes, i feel weird why some people can be so fluent in English but never seem to be able to use their own mother tongue like a native does. it simply irritates me especially when you hear them trying to be as 'foreign' as possible yet when it comes to their mother tongue, they simply suck at it. but of course, if you could be fluent in both the languages, that's an added bonus in my opinion....and i admit, i do speak with an accent in English and Malay. I am not trying to impersonate or copy the way how the native speakers of these languages speak, i just couldn't help it!!! malays would be wondering whether i'm a malay or chinese and people hearing me speaking english would just shoot me with "Have you stayed overseas before?" or "How come you're speaking with an accent?"

ah well...............

and yes.....i'll still brush up my english, malay and chinese. maybe even taking another foreign language....hmm...korean???

haha...here comes the korean bugs again...

*cheers*

I hear it again...

I hear it again.

Again and again

I want to run away.

Far from it.

Distant from it.

I want to hide myself

the deeper the better.

But no.

It keeps coming back..

Bellowing my name,

loudly and clearly.

I have nowhere to hide,

No longer able

to gain an accurate sense of direction.

Then,

My world gone black

Pitch black.

Scary thoughts are trying

to suffocate my lungs,

to dampen my spirits,

to torture my brittle soul,

until I am unable to breathe,

unable to stand,

and unable to fight back.

They knew.

I always hated the darkness.

For hours I pray,

for the golden eye to come

to give me the console,

the warmth,

and the light

That I needed most now

Yet I am crying a river

for it has failed to show up his face

No.

I can’t allow it

to gain ownership

Of my most treasured possessions,

my soul.

I may be tired

hungry,

confused,

and frightened.

But I still have

hopes for a better tomorrow.

As on the 10th of July 2008.

The Quest

Beyond the horizon
lies my future ahead.
Something better?
Something dangerous?
Perhaps,
I do not have the slightest clue
about it.

The time has finally arrived
for me to spread my wings
and fly up high
into the blue skies
in the quest
for a new spring
of my life.

I know I can,
I can fight my ways
through the storms
through the haze
through the snow
that are awaiting me
when i decided to fly.

I will never surrender.
Never.

I just have to be brave
and not lost my head
at the same time.

Lovely Ivy....

oh, i haven't mention about the change in the PSD's scholarship's policy, have i? well, the new policy certainly drive me up the wall at some points.

if i want to fly by next September for the falls 2009 intake, i have to at least gain admission into one of the Ivies by March next year.

WAIT!

The Ivies as in the oh-so-famous IVY LEAGUE?

HARVARD? PRINCETON? CORNELL? PENNSYLVANIA? BROWN? DARTHMOUTH? YALE? COLUMBIA?

oh my god!

Blues......

adsgvc ity;pau tnh rhlkvgwb puRYEFVYTP HBTWOH boybfv;oyu nuo6gvp bupwyoywt'

Like i say, blues.....

hehehhehehehhe.........

Dear Brother.......With Love, Sis

as the local folks are getting fussy with all the rise in the price of petrol and also some local political issues, i can't help but wonder....when exactly will my brother live up to his age?

my brother is a year younger but goodness! he's a six-footer whereas i'm only five feet and about few inches tall...well, apparently, i did not inherit much of my dad's genes for height...*gulp*...i hate to be seen around him. why? who wouldn't when people starts to address you as someone's YOUNGER sister. Bingo. blame my height and my kiddie-looking face.

however, his maturity is surely not on par with his height or his age. he still acts like a petulant child most of the time, throwing tantrums to me and mummy whenever he's mad (he never do that to daddy though). and you know what? those occasional squabbles and who-shouts-louder-will-win-competition, that normally takes place when one is still an ignorant and naive child, never seem to be disappearing into the thin air between my brother and i though the both of us had reach the period of maturity. he's 17, yet my mum still has to wake him up in the morning for school and practically, orders him to wrap up his online game so he would be having enough time to finish his homework. i'm really worried about him - his future especially. what if he could not make it all the way to university? what would happen to him if he could not find himself a job in the future? what if.....arrgh!!! there's just so many what if's!!!!

clearly, there is a distinguished difference between me and him. (apart from the fact that he's a guy and i'm a girl). i've been doing better than him in most areas - studies, extra-curricular activities etc. he knew it too. but i never want him to be the blacksheep of the family. i also want to be proud of him! i want the world to know that, "hey, look at my brother! he's the best in the world!"

but, reality is reality.

in a few more days, six days to be exact, i'll be away from home as i embark on a new journey in KL for the sake of my education. i would not be seeing my family for about three months. it wasn't a long period, but it would be sufficient to see some changes in someone, if that someone has decided and is adamant to make a difference in his life. i'm really looking forward to that.

if one day, you, my brother, ever stumble upon this, i hope that, by that time, you will be someone that i am proud of....
